DISABLED people in Dorset and Hampshire have the chance to become more independent following a regional donation of £1,000 from Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s charitable foundation to disability charity Motability.

Each year Motability fundraises for customers who need a charitable grant, such as Maxwell from Poole, pictured, who has diabetes, poor circulation and fibromyalgia. He successfully applied for a grant towards an advance payment for a larger car.

“The arrival of my first Motability car was a revelation,” he said.

“I no longer had to rely on others and I could go where I wanted, when I wanted.”

Mike Nigro, Enterprise Rent-A-Car MD, said: “Motability provides a lifeline to thousands of people across the UK, so we are proud to be making this donation to support some of their customers with the mobility solution they require.”

Motability’s charitable work relies on voluntary income and aims to raise around £2.5 million each year to help customers who would otherwise be unable to afford the mobility solution they need.
