A BABY, a toddler and an elderly woman were rescued by firefighters in two separate incidents.

At 11.56am firefighters from Springbourne were called to Ropley Road in Iford where a 10-month old baby and a two-year-old had been accidentally locked inside the property.

A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the crew arrived at 12.01pm and used a triple extension ladder to gain access over the gates on the driveway. They entered the property through an open back door in order to reunite the children with their mum by 12.07pm.

An 82-year-old lady had a fall and was trapped behind a door at a property in Bells Orchard Lane in Wareham at 1.33pm and on-call firefighters from the town cut a hole in the door to gain access and leave her in the care of paramedics, who took her to Poole hospital.
