THE roof of the Virgin Media store in Bournemouth collapsed causing extensive damage and leaving the store closed on some of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Managers decided to close the store due to the extent of the damage saying the premises were not safe to open following the incident on Friday, December 27.
A spokesperson from the Virgin Media store said: “The store is closed due to the roof collapsing. The store might remain closed for the next few days due to the extent of the damage as the premises are not safe to open.”
Sulman Mussdiq, who works at Phone Junkies opposite, said: “It has been the worst possible timing for them because of the bad weather. They are also closed during the sales period when lots of people are out shopping.
Khaled Baily from the Three Store opposite said: “It’s been closed since Friday and there have been workmen inside trying to clear up the mess.”
