SOUTHBOURNE traders have been giving Operation Elliot a boost through the festive season.
The appeal is raising £66,300 so six-year-old Elliot Gower, who suffers from cerebral palsy and severe haemophilia, can have an operation to help him walk.
A host of Southbourne Grove businesses donated £1 for certain items they sold to Christmas shoppers.
TD Fruits donated for every Christmas tree sold and Southbourne Cards for Medici Christmas Card boxes.
Other businesses taking part included Coastal Creatives, Starz Dog Grooming Salon, Create It All and Bears Hideaway Nursery.
Dad James Gower, from Tuckton, said: “It’s amazing that our local community are rallying around like this. We are so grateful.
“Elliot likes a good old shop and some of the traders said they wanted to help as they remember him coming to visit.”
