A BUSY year at animal charity Waggy Tails always culminates in an even busier year end – more dogs get turned out before Christmas than any other time, said chairman, Shelagh Meredith.

“As well as the dogs we have, we have several foster homes and all need food and toys,” she added.

The charity is also very short of tennis balls and footballs and hard rubber toys like kongs along with towels, blankets and duvets (polyester not feather).

The duvets and blankets get cut up to make dog beds – anyone able to help with this task would be welcome, as would anyone who would like to volunteer.

Food donations gratefully received include tinned Chappie (chicken), other tins chicken or lamb or fish, and dried food again chicken or lamb or fish.

The charity also has rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters looking for homes – they all need feeding too Donations can be left at any of the charity’s shops in Ferndown and Parkstone or direct to Helen's House, 143 Magna Road, Wimborne.
