A man taken to hospital after a crash near Westbourne on Tuesday is making a recovery in hospital.
Yesterday a spokesperson for Dorset Police said the driver was in a "stable but critical condition".
The man is being treated at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Police were called to Branksome Wood Road, at the junction with Queens Road around 11.10am by the ambulance service.
The crash involved two cars with damage only to the second car.
One man was taken to hospital. Police had no details of his injuries initially.
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident but has now re-opened.
