Holes Bay £90k traffic works finished ahead of schedule

Bournemouth Echo: Holes Bay £90k traffic works finished ahead of schedule Holes Bay £90k traffic works finished ahead of schedule

HOLES Bay Road’s £90,000 traffic signal replacement project has been completed ahead of schedule, says Borough of Poole.

Civic officials insist the work, that had been scheduled to finish on December 20, was needed because the old lights had become unreliable.

Cllr Xena Dion, cabinet portfolio holder for a prosperous and sustainable Poole, said: “We are pleased to have been able to complete these works earlier than expected which will allow us to reopen the right turn in and out of Sterte Road.

“The upgrade to the signals at this busy junction will provide many additional benefits to all road users.”

I expect the 'greed on green' cameras now automatically deduct the fixed penalty notice from your bank account before you've reached the other side of the junction!

In a previous Echo item on the new lights the Council said;
"The council says the new lights will be more responsive to changing traffic flows and will be better synchronised with signals at Asda and Hunger Hill.
It says there will be more efficient software at the junction, improving traffic flow outside peak hours.
And it says there will be benefits for cyclists and pedestrians, who will be better able to cross the main road."

That has got to be worth £90000 hasn't it?

Shame really, the traffic has been flowing so well in and out of Poole whilst these lights have been out of action.
