WEARING little more than lingerie and a smile, the brave ladies at Curves Gym in Christchurch have created a calendar to raise money for the local Foodbank.

Both owners of Curves Gym managed to cajole 12 members to bare all in Calendar Girls style in aid of the Christchurch Foodbank at St Joseph’s Catholic Church.

They are hoping to sell hundreds of copies with their tasteful take on the calendar which sees them posing with gym equipment.

Owner Carole Warren said: “The average age of our members is 45 to 70 and that is exactly what is mirrored in the calendar.

“Out of the blue one of the members suggested we should do a charity calendar and it is something I’ve been considering for some time. So I thought, at least we have one willing participant, now I just need to find other ladies brave enough.

“We decided to support the Christchurch Foodbank because it is a charity very close to my heart as I’ve had personal dealings.

“With Christmas coming up, we all thought going to the gym is such a luxury when some people can’t afford to eat.”

With the majority of the ladies posing in their underwear, there no full nudity and a group shot of everyone involved for the month of December.

Representing October, Christine Sellers said: “It’s all very tasteful and there was no full nudity. It was such a lot of fun.”

You can pick up a copy of the £10 Curves calendar on Wilverley Road in Christchurch.

All proceeds will go to Christchurch Food Bank which has been created by the Christchurch Fellowship of Churches with support from Faithworks Wessex.
