Bournemouth recycling to run as normal over Christmas

Bournemouth Echo: Bournemouth recycling to run as normal over Christmas Bournemouth recycling to run as normal over Christmas

SCHEDULED recycling and waste collections will run normally in Bournemouth throughout the festive period, with the exception of Christmas and Boxing Day.

Residents who are affected by the missed weekly rubbish collections will be able to leave two black sacks next to their bin on their next collection day.

Those who miss out on having their fortnightly recycling collected will have their excess recycling picked up on their next collection day, provided it is put in a recycling bag or cardboard box. Recycling bags are available from local libraries from December 16.

Christmas tree collections will take place from January 6 to 17 and residents should put their tree out for collection on their scheduled rubbish collection day which is also their non-recycling week.

Will run normally over Christmas except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I thought normal was the same as always not with bits missing. So normal means we are open 24/7 but closed on Monday and Wednesday , typical council don't know the difference.

So collections will be as normal. Well around here that means random collection days and times and when one asks the council why they give a feeble excuse and say that no one else has complained; even though you know your neighbour called them five minutes before.

If only Poole used such a reasonable approach. Every year they have no collections for a whole week which they claim is to avoid confusion.

More like to save money.

About four 3 years ago when there was ice and snow I had no bin collection for five weeks.

One of the few tangible services they provide and they can't even do that.
