PLANS to build a new private hospital on the Bournemouth and Poole border look set to get the green light.

The application to build a hospital on land owned by Sembcorp Bournemouth Water at Francis Avenue have already been approved by the Borough of Poole and will go before Bournemouth’s planning committee on Monday.

The outline application is being recommended for approval by planning officer Steve Davies. The new facility will primarily be built on Poole land, with just the access falling within Bournemouth’s boundary.

If approved, the new facility is expected to create 100 full-time and 100 part-time jobs. The application has sparked eight letters of objection from residents concerned about traffic congestion, parking problems and the impact on existing landscaping and trees.
