LOCAL domestic abuse charity, The Butterfly Foundation, is hosting an open day at Lighthouse, Poole on Wednesday, December 18, to raise awareness of domestic abuse at Christmas.
It will provide an opportunity for local statutory agencies and voluntary groups to provide information, advice and guidance to the public about sources of support for victims.
Attending the event will be Victoria Hedges from the National Centre of Domestic Violence, giving a presentation on supporting victims.
Art therapist, Sam Jane Lewis, will talk about the benefits of art therapy for children affected by abuse and the event will host an exhibition of Butterfly client’s artwork and a project by Kieran Sheehan of innovative dance and well-being workshops.
Visitors to the open day will have the chance to take part in a workshop from 10am to 4pm.
