A FORMER paratrooper has teamed up with 14 talented singers from Studio One in Ferndown to release a Christmas single in aid of Help for Heroes.

Love from Home was written by Ferndown-based ex-paratrooper Luke Turner along with Dave Thomas and was recorded at the Absolute Music Studios in Bournemouth.

The single was released along with a YouTube video showing the girls from Studio One, Dorset’s Centre for Performing Arts, on the day of recording.

With 1,680 hits on YouTube already, the song-writing team and students hope the Christmas single will raise an impressive amount for Help for Heroes.

Studio One principal Denise Booth said: “This has been a marvellous opportunity and a privilege for the girls who are aged between eight and 15.

“They have loved every minute.

“They’ve all worked really hard on this project, between working for their own dance and singing examinations.

“I am extremely proud of them all.

“Every penny goes to Help for Heroes, which is a charity close to the heart of Luke Turner who is an ex-paratrooper.”

The song is now available on iTunes, with each download raising £1 for charity.

Studio One also helped to raise £2,600 for Julia’s House with a charity concert and show at St Peter’s School on November 17.

The next Studio One production will take place at Bournemouth Pavilion Dance in April.
