POLICE are hunting a ‘dangerous’ man wanted in connection with a horrific knife attack where one of three victims was slashed across the face.

Ben Selby needed 50 stitches after being viciously cut from his eye to his chin by a clubber who pulled out a knife on the dance floor of V Club in Bournemouth town centre.

A picture of 27-year Jiger Sadeq has been posted on the Crimewatch website as detectives would like to trace him in connection with the attack.

Sadeq, who has been registered to a Bournemouth address, is originally from Iraq and has a tattoo on his left hand. He is described as dangerous and the public should call 999 rather than approach him.

Two of Ben’s friends, including a young woman, also suffered knife wounds during the attack in February this year.

The 30-year-old, who is a regular on Bournemouth’s club scene, told the Daily Echo: “I got involved because I saw a guy pull out a knife and slice a woman across the arm following an argument.

“I tried to help, but stumbled and fell on my knees.

“That’s when he slashed me across the face.

“It’s been almost a year since the incident and right now I’m trying to crack on and not worry about it again.”

Ben’s friend, Jody Hall, said some staff were in tears after the assault and appeared to have no idea of how to respond.

He added: “I feel really bad that Ben jumped in on an argument I was having. He was trying to save me, to break this up, but it was him who got injured. I feel awful about it.”

The nightclub in Exeter Road had its licence suspended following the incident.

It is now under new ownership and is called Halo.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “The incident was reported at 1.36am on Tuesday, February 12 after an altercation at V where the offender produced a knife.

“One man suffered serious injuries and two others suffered minor injuries.”

Anyone with any information about Jiger Sadeq should contact Dorset Police on 01202 220678 or all Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
