CAN you help catch this burglar who is wanted for pushing over a pensioner in a ‘harrowing ordeal’.

Detectives from Dorset Police are trying to track down the culprit who forced his way into a home on Poole Lane in the Kinson area of town.

The incident happened between 12.30pm and 1pm on Monday December 2.

After discovering a man her back garden looking in a coal bunker, the elderly victim, in her 80s, challenged the burglar who replied that he was looking for pipes but could not produce an identity card.

But, when the pensioner tried to shut her door the offender pushed past her into the kitchen and grabbed her wrists in order to move past her again into her lounge.

When she tried to follow him he pushed her over so he could go upstairs and search her house.

The thief made off after stealing her cordless phone and her handbag containing cash and personal items.

Detective Constable Steve Davis, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “This is an atrocious crime and I am keen to identity the offender as soon as possible.

“I am now in the position to release an e-fit the offender.

“I would urge the man pictured – and anyone who recognises him – to contact Dorset Police.

“This was a harrowing ordeal for the occupant and although not injured, she has been left badly shaken.

“I urge all residents to dial 999 immediately if they are concerned about an intruder on their property.

“It is unlikely for legitimate callers to enter the rear of properties without permission.”
