BOYZONE heart-throb Shane Lynch delighted fans at the Boscombe’s Sovereign Centre yesterday when he paid a visit ahead of the band’s BIC performance.

The Irish singer-songwriter, who is currently on the road with fellow band members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham, was promoting his new fragrance Lynch at the Savers store.

Fans queued for hours to meet the Boyzone star and one devoted follower even asked him to sign her wrist so she could have the signature permanently tattooed.

The band are heading towards their 20th anniversary and have released a new album BZ20.

Shane said: “It’s great to come here and meet some local fans. “We have still got some incredibly loyal supporters.

“We are incredibly busy at the moment because we have the tour as well as the new album, so it has been hectic.

“There is a slightly new sound, so although we are still pop there are definitely some folk elements added in.

“It’s a nice push forward.”

First in line to see Shane was 31-year-old Rachel Bartlett, who had been queuing for seven hours.

She said: “I’ve loved them since I first came across their music in 1994. I had to wait two years to see them in concert and this is the first time I’ve met one of them face-to-face.

“They make me feel like a teenager again. I’m getting his signature tattooed permanently on my wrist.”

Rachel was accompanied by her friend Charlotte Stanton who had also been to see numerous Boyzone concerts.

She said: “For me Shane is definitely by favourite. He is absolutely incredible.”
