A REWARD has been offered for information leading to the arrest and charge of a robber who targeted an elderly couple in Poole.

The man in his 80s on a mobility scooter and the woman in her 70s were attacked in broad daylight as they walked along Stalbridge Road, near the junction with Hazelbury Road, Creekmoor, at 11.30am last Wednesday.

It is alleged a man came up behind the couple, pushed the elderly man out of his mobility scooter and snatched his wife’s handbag.

The woman suffered an injury to her arm during the attack, and the robber ran off with her bag containing bank cards and a small amount of change.

Detective Constable Will Burnett said: “It was broad daylight at the time and someone may have witnessed the incident or seen a man wearing a dark coloured jacket and hat running away.”

Members of the public will only be eligible for the undisclosed cash reward if they call the Crimestoppers line – on 0800 555 111 – with information leading to the arrest and charge of an offender.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and released on police bail until the end of January 2014.
