THE BIC’s indoor winter ice rink returns later this month.

The temporary Cool Coast Ice Rink opens in the Purbeck Hall on Saturday, December 14 and will remain until February 13.

Pat Coyne, director of venues at the operator, BH Live, said: “We are delighted to offer residents and visitors to the region this hugely popular seasonal activity for the ninth winter running.

“Newly rebranded for the 2013/14 season to Cool Coast Ice Rink, the ice skating is an eagerly anticipated good value attraction which welcomes in excess of 40,000 skaters during its 10-week residency.”

The minimum age is four and youngsters are able to use the ice skating penguin balance aids to reduce the number of times they topple over. Tickets to skate are £7.50 including the skate hire, with family tickets, group concessions and children’s parties available.

Standard sessions are 90 minutes, running between 4pm and 8.45pm during term times and 11am and 8.45pm in the school holidays, with a later added session on Saturdays. There will also be Fire on Ice DJ nights on December 19, January 16 and February 23.
