A WOMAN was left “extremely frightened” after she was grabbed by a stranger as she walked to work early in the morning.

The 38-year-old victim suffered minor cuts in the attack but managed to break free and call the police.

She was walking in the area of Fenton Road and Castlemain Avenue, Southbourne, when the assault happened at around 7am on Wednesday November 27. Police have just issued details of the incident.

PC Joe Tansey, of Bournemouth police, said: “This incident has left the victim extremely frightened, and it is lucky she was able to break free and run to safety.

“I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about the man responsible to contact Dorset Police in confidence as soon as possible.

“This attack took place in the early hours of the morning and it is possible someone may have seen what happened, or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area prior to the assault.”

The offender is described as a white man, aged between 25 and 30 and over 6ft tall.

He was wearing a Puffa-style body warmer over a jumper with the hood pulled over his head.
