MEMBERS of a community group, Friends of Waterman’s Park, are celebrating after receiving a £4,972 funding boost from SITA Trust for their basketball activity court.
Funding will go towards a hard standing base onto which a basketball frame and net will be positioned for the benefit of the whole community.
Christchurch councillor Paul Hilliard, chairman of the Friends of Waterman’s Park, said: “The community’s efforts to improve the park’s facilities for all ages has received a great reward by SITA Trust’s generous backing.
“We know the court will be well used, and help maintain a healthy and vibrant neighbourhood.”
Marek Gordon, CEO and chairman of SITA Trust, added they are ‘delighted’ to be helping.
