POLICE closed the whole of Ashley Road this morning following an accident involving a moped.

A call was made to Dorset Police by the ambulance service at around 10.18am to reports of a collision involving a silver and grey Gilera Runner 200 scooter, registered to a Poole man.

It is believed that the moped rider’s injuries are not classed as life-threatening and the moped is waiting to be recovered.

The busy main road was shut off between Sea View Road and Alder Road while emergency services were on scene, before Ashley Road was cleared at 10.49am.

More bus company took to their Twitter service to report that while Ashley Road has been re-opened, there is heavy traffic and so bus sevices may experience delays but they hope to resume normal service as soon as possible.
