Yacht recovered from Poole Harbour after sinking during storm St Jude

A YACHT which sank on its mooring in Poole Harbour during the St Jude storm has been recovered after a full day’s work.
The 23ft Jaguar yacht, North Star, had been on Lilliput Sailing Club moorings.
Owner Andrew Holder told the Daily Echo he was contacted by the club on Monday to inform him his yacht was not there.
“I spent the morning ringing around coastguard, police and harbour control trying to find out where she was,” said Mr Holder.
The 63-year-old engineer from Mere, Wiltshire, added: “For all I knew, she was adrift and on her way to France.”
But a short time later he took a call from another member of the yacht club. He said: “I was told the good news was she was still attached to her moorings – the bad news was that she had sunk.”
Mr Holder said it took a long time to raise his £6,000 vessel from beneath the waves and he praised staff from Stevenson Moorings.
