CRESCENT Suzuki, based at Verwood, is alerting owners of the manufacturer’s motorbikes to an urgent recall.

Suzuki has announced a recall on GSX-R600, 750cc and 1000cc machines from 2004 onwards for a modification to front brake master cylinder and Crescent Suzuki, which also has a store at Southampton, said it was ready to hear from any customers who needed to know if their bike is included.

The recall is due to reports of bikes having a ‘spongy’ feel to the front brakes, but Suzuki stressed that no incidents had been reported due to the problem.

Due to the recall and the work involved, contact Crescent Suzuki to have the front brake master cylinder on affected models replaced with a unit that has a redesigned reservoir port and updated surface treatment on the brake piston, as well as several associated parts that will also need to be replaced.

The bikes being recalled are the GSX-R600 – K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2 and L3 models; GSX-R750 – K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2, and L3 models and GSX-R1000 – K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2 and L3 models.
