Traffic “back to normal” after County Gates roadworks finish
12:00pm Tuesday 29th October 2013 in News
MOTORISTS are getting back to normal this week after improvement works at County Gates finished at the weekend.
The works were carried out by Borough of Poole and involved each set of traffic signals being upgraded, at a cost around £180,000, as part of the £12.1 million Three Towns Travel project to encourage sustainable travel options.
Final installation works were completed at the weekend following seven weeks of roadworks to improve the area for cyclists, reduce power consumption and improve control by better linking of the individual junctions.
Cllr Xena Dion, cabinet portfolio holder for a prosperous and sustainable Poole, said: “The improvement works being carried out on the signals at this key junction have been undertaken as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.”
