Officers back at the heart of the community as new Safer Neighbourhood office opens in Rossmore
A NEW office has opened for the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) in Rossmore placing more officers back in the community.
Among those who celebrated the opening on Thursday were representatives from Dorset Police, the Safer Poole Partner-ship, Neighbourhood Watch Groups, Residents’ Associations and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset, Martyn Underhill.
Poole North Neighbourhood Inspector, Ian Roe, said that he was delighted that the new office was now open for use.
He said: “The facility places the officers in the heart of the communities they serve and will ensure they can continue to work hard to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and provide a visible prescence.
“I would also like to thank the community and our partners for the significant help and support we have received which has been a key factor in making this office a reality.”
Cllr Judy Butt, cabinet Portfolio Holder for public engagement and participation, and chairman of the Safer Poole Partnership Board, said: “I am delighted that the Safer Poole Partner-ship is supporting this really positive development.
“Residents will benefit enormously by having these teams at the centre of their neighbourhoods once again.”
Members of the public are reminded that opening times for Poole Police Station, on Wimborne Road, are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
