Woman stabbed with screwdriver during alleged sex assault in Bournemouth
POLICE are calling for witnesses to come forward after an alleged sexual assault in Bournemouth in which a woman was stabbed with a screwdriver.
The incident, in which it is alleged a 32-year-old local woman was inappropriately touched and then stabbed in the leg, took place in the area of Horseshoe Common at around 2.50am on Sunday, October 13.
Detective Constable Al Marks, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.
“I would also like to hear from any women who were approached by a man in the area at the time and asked for a light for a cigarette.”
A 28-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and sexual assault and released on bail pending further enquiries.
