Dad dies two days before memorial service for tragic son Jack Boothroyd
THE sisters of a boy who died aged 15 have suffered another tragedy after the sudden death of their father.
Mark Boothroyd, 48, died of a suspected heart attack two days before he was due to attend a memorial service for his son Jack.
His three daughters – Victoria, Charlotte and Sophie – have been left devastated by the latest loss three years after Jack’s death.
Victoria said on a social networking site: “I never thought life without my darling little brother Jack Boothroyd could ever get any worse until losing my daddy.”
Sophie added: “I hope you're finally reunited to your baby boy, Daddy; even though our life is in bits again we will continue to make you proud.”
Mr Boothroyd was taken ill at Milford-on-Sea Club, where he was living after splitting up from his wife Belinda.
Club steward Paul Dignam said Mr Boothroyd went to bed early after complaining of what he thought was indigestion.
“About 15 minutes later he buzzed down asking for us to call an ambulance,” he said.
“Paramedics were here pretty much straight away and the ambulance arrived about 15 minutes later, but from what I gather it didn’t really matter. It happened very quickly.”
Mr Boothroyd’s grieving daughters have been inundated with messages of condolence.
One said: “Your dad never stopped talking about all of you. He adored you all so much.”
Jack Boothroyd had chronic lung disease and died on October 9 2010 after being taken ill as he played with friends on Milford village green.
