Blandford woman hit by car while helping hurt dog near Charlton Marshall
A terrier dog and a woman were injured in an incident on the A350 near Charlton Marshall on Tuesday night.
The dog was struck by a car and the 39-year-old female owner from Blandford was hit by a second vehicle when she went to its aid at the roadside.
The dog was taken to a vet but died from its injuries.
Police say it is possible that both drivers were not aware they had been involved in an accident, which happened outside the Charlton Inn at around 6.30pm.
Neither car stopped.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
