Police confirm they are treating man's death as murder after body found in Gloucester Road home

- POLICE cordoned off a house in Gloucester Road, Boscombe after a body of a man was found.
- Around five police cars and forensic officers were on the scene on Friday afternoon.
- Forensic officers were seen working inside and outside the property.
Dorset Police have now issued the following statement:
"Dorset Police can now confirm a murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Gloucester Road in Bournemouth today, Friday 11 October 2013.
Officers were called to a property at around 12.34pm following a concern for welfare.
A cordon remains in place at this time and the coroner is aware.
Next of kin have yet to be informed.
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following initial enquiries, we have now launched a murder investigation, and it is vital that anyone with any information contacts Dorset Police in confidence as soon as possible.
“Any witnesses should call 101 quoting incident number 11:46. Alternatively call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.” "
James Russell, 16, who lives in a road nearby, said: “We get quite a lot of problems down here. I don't have a clue what's going on around here - it's upsetting to see.”
Sally Daniels, who has lived in the road for 45 years, added: “It's worrying. There was a big incident a couple of years ago and it's not what you want.
“I don't think anywhere is immune. It has changed, but in actual fact most of these are family homes.”

A hard working and colourful character has lost his life today, I don't know the circumstances, but my condolences go out to his family and friends.
Roy Humby, who lives next door to the flats that were sealed off, said: “I came back here and there were three or four police there and a couple of cars - I didn't realise it was this serious.
“It sounds like whoever had been there had been there for some time. I don't like the sound of it.”
The police presence has been scaled down now at Boscombe now we understand.
Boscombe East councillor Chris Rochester offered his condolences to friends and family of the dead man.
"I'm sure the police would be pleased to receive any information," he said.
Dorset Police CID are urging anyone with information to contact them urgently regarding the man's death.

Boscombe East councillor John Wilson said: "I'm extremely shocked.
"My sympathy goes out to his family. If someone hears anything, they should pass it to the police right away."
Gloucester Road is mainly residential. It is also where Boscombe police station is. Police are still on the scene we are told.
There are police at the car wash on Christchurch Road as well.

We have a statement from Dorset Police on the situation at Gloucester Road, Boscombe.
A spokesperson at Dorset Police said: "At 12.34pm today officers discovered the body of a man at an address in Gloucester Road in Bournemouth following a concern for welfare.
"A cordon has been put in place.
"Next of kin have yet to be informed.
"Dorset Police are treating the death as unexplained."
