Bournemouth Pier glows for Coastal BID Golden Ticket giveaway
BOURNEMOUTH Pier was bathed in a magical golden glow to promote the resort’s popular Golden Ticket giveaway. The stunning light installation was the work of Michael Grubb and his team who were behind the lighting effects at the 2012 Olympic Games. Michael said: “My team designed a scheme that ensured the pier’s key architectural components could be revealed and enhanced with light.
“The biggest challenge was the weather and the tide. Fortunately, Mother Nature was on our side.”
Bournemouth’s Coastal BID organised the stunt as part of an autumn national campaign to attract more visitors to the tourist town.
The golden ticket giveaway offers members of the public a chance to win one of six top prizes, including meeting Jessie J backstage at the BIC and a private champagne cruise for two.
Des Simmons, chairman of the town’s Coastal BID, said: “The beautiful image of the Pier draped in gold light will bring back so many memories to people.
“Along with the support of Bournemouth Tourism, we wanted to create a buzz about the Golden Ticket promotion to people across the UK and we know that stunning images of Bournemouth are very popular.”
Around 200,000 postcards have been delivered to households in the south midlands offering people a chance to win one of six once-in-a-life time experiences in Bournemouth.
Chocolate bars are also being handed out in Swindon, Oxford and Reading railway stations to promote the competition.
The golden ticket prizes can be won by just choosing a preferred prize online at bournemouth goldenticket.co.uk and details go into a prize draw.
Lucky winners will be notified at the end of October.
