Oil spill on Wessex Way causes delays after crash
A ROAD accident which led to an oil spill is causing hold-ups on Bournemouth's Wessex Way.
The A338 remains closed westbound between the Bournemouth West roundabout at Cambridge Road and the County Gates roundabout.
It was initially closed both ways after a Volkswagen Transporter van was in collision with a Honda CRV at 2.08pm. No one was injured but the road was described as being “like an ice rink” after the oil spill.
The eastbound lane was reopened at 2.38pm.
Westbound traffic is being diverted along Cambridge Road to the St Michael's roundabout while emergency services wait for Bournemouth council to arrive on the scene.
