Mayor of Bournemouth urging daredevils to join him in fire walk
THE mayor of Bournemouth is encouraging fundraisers to follow his lead and take part in a heated charity event.
Cllr Rodney Cooper is taking part in a fire walk to collect cash for six local charities and is looking for dare devil participants to join him.
The event takes place at the Miramar Hotel in Bournemouth at 3pm on Sunday, November 3, and can be undertaken by anyone aged between eight and 80.
Charities set to benefit from the fundraiser are Diverse Abilities Plus, BCHA, Coda Fiddle Orchestra, Kitty’s Wish Foundation, The Steve Bernard Foundation and the Wessex Cancer Trust.
Cllr Cooper said: “I have always wanted to undertake a fire walk and I’m very much looking forward to it. It is a unique event for the local community to take part in.”
To enter the fire walk, the non-refundable entry fee is £50 per person and each entrant must raise at least £95 in sponsorship.
