Scott Hudson proposed to girlfriend Kimberley Bracher as she crossed finish line after half marathon
MOST people are happy to collapse in a chair with a well-earned drink following their first half-marathon.
But 21-year-old Kimberley Bracher went one better.
Just seconds after completing the 13.1 mile race at the inaugural Bournemouth Marathon Festival this morning boyfriend Scott Hudson presented her with a diamond ring.
The couple, who have been in a relationship for three years, are now happily planning their wedding.
Kimberley, who works for CrossCounty Trains and lives in Westbourne, said: “I had absolutely no idea Scott was going to propose at all – it was such a shock when I realised what was happening.

“I just couldn’t believe it when I saw that he was proposing to me.”
Kimberley, who is originally from Birmingham and moved to Bournemouth two years ago, met her now-fiance through work.
“He works with the trains and I work on the platform, so we actually met each other on a platform,” she said.
“I was lucky enough to get a job down here and it meant that I could move in with him.”
But the path to the proposal wasn’t a smooth one, and Kimberley said the day started out on a bad note.
“On Saturday night, he had to go out and sort the ring,” she said.
“Obviously, I didn’t realise what he was doing, and we had a bit of a row. I started the race in a bit of a foul mood.”
She joked: “I think I’ve forgiven him now though.”
Scott said he was “ecstatic” that his lovely wife-to-be said yes to his proposal.
“It’s been a crazy day,” Kimberley added.
“Running my first half-marathon and then getting engaged – it’s definitely something to tell our future children about.”
