And marathon winner Ebisa Merga who raced to the finish line in a time of 2 hours and 16 minutes and 42 seconds.
The 25-year-old from Ethiopia was elated to set the course record benchmark.
He said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to finish first at the first ever Bournemouth Marathon Festival.
“I loved the race, I loved the spectators and the weather was perfect for me.
"I’ve run a lot of marathons this year but this one has definitely been one of my favourites. Hopefully I’ll be back to defend my title next year."
Here is a few words from this weekend's race director...
Neil Kilgour, Bournemouth Marathon Festival Race Director, said: "With miles of glorious, unspoilt golden sands and clear blue sea, Bournemouth and Poole, provided a beautiful backdrop for the ultimate run.
“We’re proud to host a brand new marathon festival in such a stunning location.
"The spectacular, natural running environment and fresh air of Bournemouth and Poole has proved a perfect choice for runners who want to run "as it should be” making it an exciting addition to the UK running calendar.
“From the elite runner through to the first time marathon runner, to youngsters standing in the start pen for the first time in their lives, it was a great pleasure to welcome them all.
"Many of these people were changing their lives and many were changing the lives of others too through raising vital funds for charity.”
I hope he's now putting his feet up! Nick is on the far left

Business has taken a hit in Sandbanks following the road closures for Bournemouth Marathon Festival.
Cafe Shore, on Banks Road, say that up to 20 people cancelled the reservations they had with the restaurant throughout the day.
Oliver Atkinson, Head Waiter, said: “The road closures have affected us quite a lot.
He added: “The thing is, instead of two roads through to Sandbanks, there is only one, and so people just don't want the hassle.
“It's also people just being impatient and not wanting to queue in traffic.
“In addition, the weather has been good, so perhaps many people are choosing to stay outside.
“But, it does mean that numbers are down and we only have a few people in the bar, probably a fifth of what we'd have normally, when it would be quite busy.”
The road closures have affected over 100 streets across the county, in the same weekend that the Bakers Arms Roundabout on the A35 has been closed following roadworks.

Just a warning for anyone heading to the Sandbanks Ferry - you can't go down directly from Haven Road in Canford Cliffs, you have to divert via Lilliput. Apparently the signage isn't particularly good and is causing a bit of confusion for some drivers.

So with less than 15minutes until the marathon begins from Kings Park this morning here is the full route.
The route makes its way through Southbourne Grove towards Hengistbury Head and down to Boscombe Overcliff Drive before runners come back on themselves and run along Southbourne Coast Road before along the beach at Southbourne.
They carry on here until they reach Boscombe Pier and Overstrand where they run through Boscombe Gardens and onto the East Cliff.
Here they go past the Russell Coates Museum before heading back to Boscombe Pier before turning around, back to Bournemouth Pier, leaving Pier Approach and running up "Heartbreak Hill" to the Westcliff.
They then come back along the promenade and head towards Poole and Sandbanks before turning around and coming back to Bournemouth.

The half marathon starts at 8am from Kings Park this morning with the full marathon at 10am.
The route makes its way through Southbourne Grive and down to Boscombe Overcliff Drive before runners come back on themselves and run along Southbourne Coast Road before along the beach at Southbourne.
They carry on here until they reach Boscombe Pier and Overstrand where they run through Boscombe Gardens and onto the East Cliff.
Here they go past the Russell Coates Museum before heading back to Boscombe Pier before turning around, back to Bournemouth Pier where they finish the race in the Lower Gardens.
I'm exhausted just typing that - let alone run it.
Early start! Final carb loading commences!! #bmf13 http://t.co/2ZGDAdkDoM— @GuildfordSaint 06 October 2013
