Residents have just days to give views on Poole Road improvements
RESIDENTS have until Friday to give their views on the proposed Poole Road improvements.
Borough of Poole council is consulting the public on a series of improvement schemes destined for the busy main road through Westbourne, Branksome and Parkstone.
They held a public exhibition at St Adhelm’s Church, on St Aldhelm’s Road, on Wednesday, which was attended by many residents who were keen to speak to council officers about their views. Feedback forms are also made available to residents until October 4, 2013.
It is the latest stage in the consultation, which is part of the Three Towns Travel project, to decided how £460,000 allocated by the Department of Transport, should be spent.
Cllr Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, said that Poole council had nearly 150 responses from local people during the previous engagement exercise.
She added: “The council has designed a series of improvements a series of improvements designed to address the issues raised, including reducing congestion, improving air quality, and helping make public spaces more attractive.”
Printed copies of the schemes and feedback forms are available at Branksome Children’s Centre, on Poole Road. Alternatively, Residents can go online at Boroughofpoole.com/threetownstravel.
