Hunt for gang who stabbed man in unprovoked Westbourne attack
A GANG who stabbed a man in Westbourne in an unprovoked attack are being hunted by police.
Detectives said this afternoon that they were looking for a group of men after the assault on Monday evening.
It happened between 8pm and 10pm along Seamoor Road.
The victim, a 27-year-old Bournemouth man, was walking in the direction of the Chez Fred chip shop when he encountered a group of six or seven men aged in their late 20s, police said.
He was sprayed with an incapacitant spray by the group before being stabbed in the leg. The victim had to attend hospital for treatment.
Detective Constable James Lees, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a seemingly unprovoked attack.
“I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police in confidence as soon as possible.”
No arrests have been made.
