Armed officers in major police response in Parkstone

- A MAJOR police response is underway in the Seaview Road and Cranbrook Road areas of Poole.
- As of 6.30pm, armed police and dog units were still surrounding a property in Cranbrook Road. The road is closed to traffic.
Police have just said this about the Parkstone incident:
"At 5.30pm today, Monday 16 September 2013, police were called to a report of an alleged robbery on Sea View Road in Poole.
"During the incident two men sustained serious, but not life threatening injuries and were taken to Poole Hospital.
"A cordon has been put in place at Sea View Road.
"A 25-year-old local man has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.
"Officers, assisted by the Firearms Unit, police dogs and the NPAS helicopter, continue to search for two men who are believed to have been involved.
"One is described as a white man, mid to late 20s, tall with short brown hair, wearing a black jacket. The other is a white man wearing an orange T shirt, who may be injured.
"No further information is available at this time."

Police are now re-opening Cranbrook Road.
An officer has spoken to the people waiting in the street.
He said the police had been looking for specific people and specific items.
He said the situation was now “fine”. The road would re-open shortly and there would be more “reassurance patrols”.

Quite a few neighbours are in the street watching the drama.
Officers have been heard shouting at someone inside a property in Croft Road to come out.
One resident in Seaview Road said: "I saw someone in the alleyway next to the house at about 4.30pm but I see people going in and out of the house all day so I didn't think anything of it.
"About half an hour later, the police and ambulance turned up and someone came out with the paramedics. He was walking but he had a bloody face."

Paul Foster, 34, of Parkstone, said: "I was the first on the scene when the police were taping it all off.
"A woman police officer was putting on a stab vest and she said to get back, it wasn't safe."

Police are searching nearby Turner's Field. It is believed they are looking for a suspect.

Witness Max Palmer-Malt, 17, said: “There are police at Seaview and there’s an ambulance there.
“There are police with guns and everything."
Armed officers are currently surrounding a house in Cranbrook Road.
Dog handlers are also at the property.
