THE family of alleged murder victim Rodger Tett have paid tribute to their “life and soul of the party”.

Mr Tett, 42, was airlifted to hospital on Saturday after suffering severe head injuries at an address in Luckham Road in Charminster. He died on Monday night.

Rodger, who had a 15-year-old son, lived with his fiancée Kim Trevillion at her home in Luckham Road and the pair were due to get married next year.

His family say they have been left devastated by his death.

His mother Judith Tett, 67, said Rodger was born in Elgin in Scotland where his father worked for the Royal Air Force.

The family moved to Bournemouth 34 years ago when Rodger was 11 years ago.

He attended Winton Boys School and sixth form and became a graphic designer shortly after.

Rodger later moved into the building trade and worked for a local firm.

Paying tribute to her son, Mrs Tett added: “He was a practical joker. He was the life and soul of the party with a kind heart. He would do anything for anyone. He was a complete and utter mummy’s boy.

“He was so very proud of his son, he thought the world of his boy.”

Mrs Tett said Rodger was a talented artist and an avid Chelsea Football Club fan.

“He will be greatly missed by his friends and family who all loved him.”

His sister Christine said Rodger will be sorely missed by the whole family, including her three children four-year-old Kaitlyn, Callum, five, and Kian, seven.

“I just feel he was taken too early. I am pregnant and he will never get to meet the baby. If it’s a boy, Rodger will be remembered in his name.”

She added: “Rodger loved coming round, especially with these on their bikes trying to run him over and jumping with them on the trampoline.

“He always got me into trouble.”

Brother-in-law Ray said: “He was a clown and a joker, he always used to bounce around. He had a kind heart.”

Fiancée Kim, 41, said she had known Rodger for seven years and been with him for over a year and half.

“He was loving, caring and I have been robbed of a happy life with him.

“He was the funniest person I have ever met. He was my best friend, he looked after me and would never let anything happened to me.”

She said Rodger proposed on Valentine’s Day last year and they had been making plans for their big next on May 30, 2014.

Rodger’s family say only family and close friends will be invited to the funeral and they have asked for others to respect their wishes.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation and are continuing to question a 33-year-old Bournemouth man.

This afternoon police renewed their appeal for witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector John Gately, of MCIT, said: “I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information regarding this incident to contact police in confidence.”

Witnesses should call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 07:409, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
