Bournemouth chippy set to serve food until 4am
1:00pm Tuesday 10th September 2013 in News
A BOURNEMOUTH fish and chip shop has been granted permission to serve food until 4am every day.
The licence application by town centre takeaway Sea Star fish and chips, in Exeter Road, was approved by Bournemouth Council’s licensing committee last week, despite five objections from nearby residents.
The shop currently shuts at 3am on Fridays and Saturdays and 11pm during the rest of the week. Dorset Police said they would not object to the application as long as the shop had a licensed door supervisor after 11pm.
Cllr Andrew Morgan, chairman of the Licensing Board, said: “We are very happy that they are responsible operators, who are well aware of the need to avoid causing a public nuisance to local residents.”
