Cyclist injured in hit and run crash in Ferndown
A CYCLIST suffered a possible fractured ankle after a hit-and-run collision with a car in Ferndown on Friday last week.
The 24-year-old Wimborne man was riding his BMX near the junction of West Moors Road and Horton Road at around 10am when he was involved in a crash with a grey Vauxhall Astra, believed to be driven by a woman aged between 50 and 60.
As well as the possible fracture and cuts and bruises the rider's bike was badly damaged in the collision, which knocked him off the bike, however the driver failed to stop at the scene.
Police Constable Dave Hassell said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.
“I am confident the driver will undoubtedly be aware a collision occurred at the scene before they drove off and I would urge them to do the right thing and speak with the police.
“This is a busy junction and I believe someone will have seen what happened, or may have more details regarding the car or driver involved.”
No arrests have been made.
