Vandals spray paint names on Old Harry Rocks
9:23am Friday 30th August 2013 in News
POLICE are investigating after two men on a boat were spotted spray painting their names on chalk cliffs near Studland.
Onlookers reported the vandalism of the Jurassic Coast’s iconic cliffs to police following the incident at Old Harry Rocks on Tuesday afternoon.
The men used red spray paint to deface the World Heritage Site, after leaving their red and white motorboat to clamber onto a beach to commit the offence.
They sprayed the names "Martin" and "Wayne" onto the 650million-year-old rocks before taking it in turns to pose next to their handiwork.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said they were called at 3.20pm on Tuesday by a member of the public reporting graffiti on the rocks at Old Harry.
They are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
