- Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the first-ever Bournemouth Parkrun at Kings Park Athletics Centre on Saturday from 9am.
- The 14th annual duck race in aid of Wimborne in Bloom is expected to draw hundreds of Saturday.
- The fifth Purbeck Folk Festival takes place at Wilkswood Farm until Sunday. The line-up includes multi-BBC Radio 2 folk award winners Karine Polwart and Show of Hands.
- The annual Frogham fair is held in Fordingbridge between 1.30pm and 5pm tomorrow and will end with a wheelbarrow race at Blissford Hill.
- The fifth annual plane pull takes place at Bournemouth Airport on bank holiday Monday from 10am.

It will also take place tomorrow at Wilkswood Farm, off the A351.

To the west of the county on the road towards Bridport, the A35 is closed in both directions after a caravan overturned.
Two men have been injured and the air ambulance is on scene.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said it happened just after 1pm this afternoon near Askerswell.
The road is closed in both directions between Shipton Gorge and Monkey's Jump, Dorchester.

A 60-year-old female pedestrian is fighting for life after she was involved in a collision with a cyclist in Purbeck this morning.
The woman from the Bedford area was rushed to Southampton General Hospital suffering from
"serious, life threatening injuries" following the crash on Coombe Lane at the junction with Three Acre Lane at Langton Matravers.

Tomorrow (Sunday), the IWM Duxford-based Catalina aircraft, 70 years old this year, arrives at Poole harbour and the Bournemouth seafront as part of its re-creation of the 1913 Circuit of Britain flight.
The seaplane arrives at Poole harbour and then Bournemouth seafront around 3pm. It will be at Swanage and Sandbanks just before that. It will then arrive at Hengistbury Head just after 3.10pm.

We're hoping to get some more information from the police on the collision from yesterday and will update as soon as we have anything.
Dorset Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision at Ferry Road, Studland yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place at 12.45pm on Friday lunchtime and involved a blue Ford Focus and a cyclist.
Anyone with information or may have witnessed the collision should contact PC Freeman on 101.

Sallie Longman, who took the photo, said she was at her beach hut on Mudeford sandbank, when she spied what had happened.
"It was low tide and there is a little sandbank there, where the boat ran aground.
"Unfortunately the tide was still falling and the boat was there for about an hour", she said.
Everyone on board was transferred as soon as the other ferry arrived around 10-15minutes later, Sallie added.
"It's hasn't happened before in my knowledge although the tides do get quite low there."
We've been sent some photos of the Mudeford Ferry, Ferry Dame run aground at Mudeford Spit on Friday night with a boat of passengers.
The passengers were transferred onto another vessel - Josephine 2 - which took them back to Mudeford Quay.

One person was also taken to hospital after a fire caused by smoking materials at a home in Charminster on Friday night.
Firefighters were called at 9.13pm to the demi-detached two floor property and discovered the fire had been put out on arrival.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue encouraged people to ensure they disposed of smoking materials correctly and had working smoke alarms fitted.
Firefighters from Dorset Fire and Rescue were called to a vehicle fire in Duck Lane, West Howe in the early hours of the morning.
The cause of the fire, which destroyed the car, was malicious, a spokesperson for the service said.
One crew from Redhill, called at just before 2.20am, extinguished it using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.

The 5k route is already underway.

There are reports of Parley Lane both ways partially blocked due to accident at Around Merritown Lane.
One of the many events taking place this weekend is the first-ever Bournemouth Parkrun.
Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for the free 5k event, which takes place at the Kings Park Athletics Centre from 9am.
It follows on from the parkrun in Poole, which draws up to 500 people every week.
Runners will be timed, with many aiming to better their personal best during each week’s parkrun.
The event was first launched in London’s Bushy Park in 2004 with just a handful of people, but almost a decade later, operates in eight countries with close to 375,000 runners who have collectively walked, jogged or sprinted a total of 14 million kilometres.
Our traffic feed says there's stop-start traffic on A31 at the Canford Bottom Roundabout.
There's also heavy traffic on the A338 Salisbury Road Westbound at A31 / B3347 Mansfield Road (Ringwood / Fordingbridge Turn Off).

Wimborne Road East is blocked both ways due to a tree branch falling on a lorry at B3072 Wimborne Road East / Queens Road.
The council are en route to attend the scene.

THE annual charity cricket game between insurance firm Ageas 50 and the mayor’s selected team got under way at 1pm at Dean Park.
The match between the local firm, formally RIAS, and a team made up of councillors and other volunteers has been a fixture for ten years and raises funds for the mayor’s charities – this year Kitty’s Wish Foundation, the Steve Barnard Foundation, the Wessex Cancer Trust, BCHA, the Coda community orchestra and Diverse Abilities Plus.
Ageas 50 call centre manager Julian Flower said: “I would like to think we are competing with the Ashes for cricket fans attention but I think that might be in my dreams.
“But it is a fun day, it’s free entry and the more who come along the merrier.”
The innings last for 35 overs and the match is expected to be finished by 6pm.
