EIGHT holiday spots in Dorset and the New Forest feature in a new national holiday guide launched today. The UK, Our Way, is put together for children by children.

Among the youngsters’ recommendations are the New Forest and Lyme Regis as the best places for a walk or bike ride; Wareham Forest for picnics; Splashdown in Poole as the best swimming pool or water park; Monkey World as the top animal sanctuary or zoo; and the Tank Museum at Bovington for learning about history.

The guide was developed by Parkdean, which has 24 holiday parks in the UK, including at West Bay, Sandford and Warmwell in Dorset. It can be downloaded from parkdean.com/ukourway.

Chief executive John Waterworth said: “Kids just want to have fun while on holiday or with the family and have a very strong view on what they like doing. So, we asked children and families across the UK to tell us what they like doing while enjoying a fun day out.

“We’ve used the feedback to create our handy holiday companion and we hope that this will inspire other families and their kids to make the most of the some of the best spots and attractions the UK has to offer.”
