AN inquest into the death of tragic Wareham woman, Sophie Crew, killed in a crash with a school bus, was opened yesterday.

Sophie was driving a silver Mini Cooper on the B3078 on Tuesday morning when her vehicle was in collision with a school coach from Queen Eliz-abeth’s School, Wimborne.

The coroner’s court at Stafford Road in Bourne-mouth heard that Sophie, 23, of Puddletown Road, Wareham, was identified by her parents, Paula and Stephen Crew.

Dr Christopher Loew, a consultant in intensive care medicine gave the cause of death as a traumatic brain injury. District coroner Sheriff Payne adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.

Yesterday, tributes cont-inued to pour in for the popular former Parkstone Grammar School student.

A Facebook tribute page – RIP Sophie Crew – was set-up by her friends, attracting more than 2,500 likes and many comments rememb-ering the bright graduate.

One, from Kaylee Glover, said: “Such tragic news.

“I remember our school discos together and jumping over pony jumps in your garden with the dogs.”

Trudy Hicken said: “My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I remember Sophie and Lucie from my days on the Parkstone Grammar School reception desk. Both the loveliest of girls, always happy and smiling, an absolute joy to be around.”

Ash Whoomes said: “You were such a happy, fun-loving person, so many happy memories I’ll never forget.

“You helped me so much with my revision in uni and always thought of others.”

And Jon Morse said: “It’s so unfair that you have gone. I won’t forget the many great times we had together, especially those seven weeks in France. You truly were a lovely girl with a heart of gold.”
