COUPLES who met at Marlow's regatta over the years have been asked to come forward and tell their romantic tales by organisers, who have also revealed more details of this year's event.

The Marlow Town and Regatta Festival Committee is looking for stories of love emanating from the show piece social occasion - and for reminiscences in general about the event throughout the decades.

Chairman Nav Ali encouraged readers to send in their interesting anecdotes.

He said: "I've heard that a few people have met at the regatta and have since got married, it would be good to hear of such stories."

Meanwhile, the committee has revealed that there will be an enclosure arena on Sunday with a wide range of displays and entertainment.

From about 1 to 5 pm there will be a dog show with various competitions, John Johnny Kids Dance Academy, Katy Kartwheel Aerial Acrobatic Group, Ellington Morris Dancers, The london Mass Bugle band and the Kobika Starlite Dancers.

Committee spokesman Lance Slater said: "Everything looks set for another great regatta weekend so come along with your family and friends and make sure you have pre-booked your badges, picnic spaces and parking spaces."

Send your stories to bfpnews@london.newsquest.co.uk and we will pass them on. Tickets on sale via www.marlowtownregatta.org or Marlow information centre and on the day.
