Paul Hollywood is finding the new series of 'The Great British Bake Off' "annoying" because everyone is too good.

The silver fox - who judges bakers on the BBC show alongside Mary Berry - has been impressed with the high standard of the contestants on the fourth series of the programme so much so he joked it "winds him up" how "professional" competitors have been.

He told BANG Showbiz: "The standard this year has been amazing, they are more professional this year. They need their necks winding in more. But actually they are really good.

"I've been really shocked actually, we both have. It's been annoying because I can't find anything wrong and that winds me up a lot to be honest."

Mary has also been impressed with some "very good bakers" on the show - which will return later this year - but she still finds it "ghastly" having to send people home.

Speaking at the BAFTA TV Awards, she said: "I think we've got some very, very good bakers this time from all over Britain and they're at a very high standard. They are enjoying it. We're halfway through filming.

"But the thing I don't like is sending people home. It's ghastly. But they're a great team."
