FEW tribute acts can hold their heads up and admit they have been endorsed by a member of their subject matter’s family.

Yet that is an accolade Clive John and his band that makes up The Johnny Cash Roadshow can take genuine pride in.

The band, which will visit the Tivoli Theatre on June 1, played a date in Manchester recently to which the grand-daughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash, Caitlin Crowell, turned up and lavished the band with praise.

From his first hits in the 1950s right up to his last, the band plays a tribute to Cash with astounding accuracy capturing the atmosphere of a real Cash show.
