FOOTBALL boss Harry Redknapp could face a trial after pleading not guilty to two motoring offences.

Redknapp, right, the manager of Queen’s Park Rangers, is accused of speeding on The Avenue in Poole on October 23 2012.

He also faces a charge under section 172 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act – a duty to identify the driver of the vehicle.

Redknapp, 66, of Panorama Road in Sandbanks, Poole, did not attend Bournemouth Magistrates Court yesterday to enter a plea, and Jonathan Morrissey, defending, did so on his behalf.

Charles Nightingale, prosecuting, said the defendant had not been able to ascertain whether he or his wife Sandra was driving the domestically-registered vehicle at the time of the alleged offence.

The trial, currently scheduled for August 1, could be dropped if the information is provided. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will decide if the trial is to be dropped by May 22.
