A MAN will stand trial after denying carrying out two robberies with an imitation gun.
Robert Grogan pleaded not guilty to carrying out a robbery at the Co-op in Cranleigh Road in Southbourne on Saturday, January 12, and another the day after at the Mace store at Sauflands, in Highcliffe.
The 50-year-old also denied the charges of possessing an imitation firearm on those occasions with intent to commit robbery. It is alleged he took £162 from the Southbourne Co-op and coins from a till at the Mace store.
Grogan, of no fixed address, wore a dark red jumper and grey tracksuit bottoms during his appearance at Bournemouth Crown Court and spoke only to confirm his name and plead not guilty to the four offences.
He was remanded in custody and will return for trial on June 24.
