SHOPPERS in Cirencester helped raise £426 for to help young carers across Gloucestershire.
The town’s Waitrose supermarket donated the money to Gloucestershire Young Carers through its token system, which sees customers vote for which charity they want to support.
The organisation – one of two charities chosen by Cotswold District Council leader Cllr Sir Edward Horsfall (Con, Ampney-Coln) to benefit from fundraising events through 2012 and 2013 – supports people under 25 who act as carers for members of their family.
