Thatched home destroyed in fire

A thatched home was totally destroyed in a fire in North Dorset this evening.

A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said around 45 firefighters were on the scene at Minchington, between Blandford and Shaftesbury.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service sent eight fire engines to the scene plus specialist vehicles. The Red Cross support vehicle was also sent to aid people affected by the blaze.
